The book, researched and written by Scott Gordon, is beautifully designed by Heather Reinert. The volume traces sites and structures from the Moravians’ earliest activity in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. During their first two decades in the mid-Atlantic region, Moravians preached the gospel, built churches, established missions and schools, and launched ships. In most cases, little remains at these locations to mark this extraordinary work. This guide describes these places and provides addresses, when possible, so that users can visit the sites. The Journal of Moravian History

Shortly after our founding in 1857, we published the first issue of the Transactions of the Moravian Historical Society. In 2006, we collaborated with our affiliate the Moravian Archives to expand the Transactions into the biannual Journal of Moravian History, a scholarly publication featuring articles, book reviews, and translations of original source material related to Moravian history. The Journal is now published in cooperation with the Pennsylvania State University Press and is recognized as the leading scholarly periodical on Moravian history in English.
