The Moravian Historical Society will be getting extra assistance this spring with the addition of student interns Tammy Kober of Nazareth and Mark A. Turdo of Bethlehem. They are juniors at Moravian College, and will spend their spring semester at the historical society. Kober, daughter of Marion and Gabe Kober of Washington, N.J., is majoring in art history, with a minor in biology. She has been accepted as a member of Tri-Beta, the biology honor society, and is a member of the campus Art Club. She was an active dressage equestrian competitor on the East Coast for eight years and she volunteers annually at the Essex Horse Trials in Bedminister, N.J.
Turdo, son of Frank and Mary Turdo of Bethlehem, is majoring in history. He is active with a Revolutionary War era reenactment group and has worked as a living history re-enactor and researcher at Morristown National Park in New Jersey. He creates reproduction clothing based on 18th century originals. He also fences with the Lehigh University fencing team and is a professional juggler.
As part of their internship, the students will help prepare and install exhibits, register new acquisitions and work on individual projects.
Susan M. Dreydoppel, executive director of the historical society, and Moravian College faculty members Rosalind Remer, associate professor of history, and Les Reker, associate professor of art, are supervising the interns.
They will complete their field study in May.
