The original "History of Nazareth 1740-1940," published 50 years ago, has been reprinted by Moravian Historical Society as part of Nazareth's 250th anniversary celebration this year.
The history, first published in 1940 by Nazareth, Pennsylvania Bi- Centennial, Inc. Part I, dealing with Nazareth as a Moravian community, was compiled by the Rev. G.M. Schultz, then librarian of the Moravian Historical Society.
Part II, covering 1856-1940, was written by various contributors, according to the book's notes.
The reprint is in the original size and format, with a gold- stamped soft cover. It includes more than 300 pages of narrative and 65 photographs, all from the original volume.
A new book focusing on the past 50 years of Nazareth is being published by the 250th Anniversary Celebration Committee of Nazareth. Delivery is expected in early spring.
Copies of the reprinted history are available for $20 from the Moravian Historical Society at Whitefield House, 214 E. Center St.; Moravian Hall Square Museum and Craft Shop, 1 Hall Square, and the 250th Anniversary Committee headquarters, 107 S. Main St., all in Nazareth, and from Moravian Book Shop, Bethlehem.
