Traveling Exhibit Requirements

The Moravian Historical Society has four traveling exhibits which are available for use by churches, organizations, camps, and other groups. Each exhibit consists of mounted photographs, occasionally accompanied by related items (not artifacts). All necessary labels and written material accompany each exhibit, as well as instructions on how to hang the exhibit, a discussion guide, a sample press release, and other helpful material.

To reserve an exhibit, please print and complete this application and mail it to us.

Length of Use:

Each church or institution may use an exhibit over two Sundays, or for about two weeks. Longer periods of time may be considered, but must be requested.

Cost of Exhibit:

1. Each user pays a fee of $25 per exhibit, which covers the cost of the advance materials, postage and telephone calls. The advance packet and a bill for the use fee will be sent about six weeks before you receive the exhibit.


2. Each user is also responsible for getting the exhibit to its next location and for covering any costs involved. As long as the exhibit reaches its next destination on time, the exhibit may be shipped by USPS, Federal Express, UPS, or another service, or it could be delivered personally. In the case of longer than average distance between two users, the Moravian Historical Society may help defray some of the shipping expenses. Maximum postage cost is generally $25.


3. Each user may be responsible for providing necessary supplies to hang the exhibit in its location, if adhesive-backed Velcro is not used (enough to hang the exhibit will be included in your advance packet).

Space Required:

Each exhibit is designed to be as flexible as possible, able to be hung on bulletin boards, Christian Education wing hallways, or room dividers. The minimum linear feet necessary is given in each exhibit description, but that total may be broken up by doors or windows, or an exhibit could be hung on both sides of a shorter hallway. Each exhibit may also be stretched to cover more space.

Exhibit Restrictions:

All photographs and exhibit labels must be returned to the Moravian Historical Society or forwarded to the next user. All photos are copyrighted. Publicity photos may be used for publicity purposes connected with an exhibit.
